New Monthly Goals on Deck!!
Fall is my favorite time of year! However, with the cooler temperatures, the color of the leaves changing and the holiday season starting, my thoughts become more consumed with drinking hot chocolate, sitting by the fire, and watching a good movie. Staying on track is a bit more challenging for me.
Maybe you can relate?
One of the ways I find that I keep my focus is by doing a 90-day action plan, breaking it down to a 30-day action plan with my weekly and daily goals being aligned.
What I have found recently with my business is I’ll have this great plan mapped out, but then the end of the month comes around and some of my goals are incomplete. It’s frustrating.
In October, I started looking at my process and what I found is that I am falling into the trap of over-shooting my goals.
Right now, I want to do all the things and accomplish all of them in my business like yesterday, so this mindset was seeping into my goal planning, which I didn’t even realize.
I truly believe you can accomplish anything and have anything with a good plan, however your plan has to be mapped out and tailored to your lifestyle and schedule.
For me, my family keeps me busy, so I have to account for that. I am also still working doing my consulting job while Savvy Clover is growing.
For the month of October, one of the changes I made is I now have 2 top goals I want to accomplish, which translates to 2 top weekly goals, complimented with 2 top daily goals.
I use to aim for 3, but what I found is having 2 top goals works perfect for me and my schedule. Setting reasonable, attainable, and realistic goals helps you focus on what is most important and allows you to actually accomplish your goals.
Prioritize what your business needs most, then set goals to accomplish those 1-2 tasks. Once you have accomplished those two goals, you can move to the next one feeling accomplished and ready to move on.
This also protects your energy. Even saying “I have these 2 things I need to get done” changes my frame of mind. You won’t feel overwhelmed with everything you need to get done. You will know exactly where to start and what is coming next.
For the month of October, I’m happy to report I completed my 2 goals and am now starting on my 2 for November.
Having goals feels good! Accomplishing your goals feels even better.
Set yourself up for success so your brain gets use to the feeling of accomplishment and you’ll become a goal achieving machine!
